Concert
On Saturday, October 10, 2009 (7:30pm), the day will conclude with a free outdoor concert at Veterans Park in downtown Flagler Beach with music by Braddigan, Josh Garrels, and Jesse Hines.
Braddigan is an intense soul living a wild and traveled life. Whether with Dispatch or his bandmates (Reinaldo from Puerto Rico, Tiago from Brazil, and Paul from New York City), he is investing his time, talent, and treasure to give voice to the voiceless and shed light on life around the world. His music fuses rock and reggae while teasing out latin rhythms, jazz riffs, and improvisational jams. In his own words, "Its never what you do in life, but the heart with which you do it."
Josh Garrels specializes in a fusion of folk music and breakbeats by layering elements of electronic sampling with organic accompaniment. This colorful tapestry of sound is firmly rooted in life experiences, and is held together by his melodic voice and lyrics. His latest album, Jacaranda, celebrates his family and "welcoming displacement as we wander the earth."
Jesse Hines is a pro-surfer turned singer-songwriter from the Outer Banks. Jesse won the Tommy Tant Pro Mens Division in 2006. His debut EP, In the Right Time, was produced by Brad Corrigan and will be released in Fall 2009 on Broken Miracle Records.
